Bernie Cards were conceived due to a simple predicament. I really enjoy making birthday cards for friends out of various crafts, but was low on both time and materials. I did have the ability to design something digitally, but with a time crunch, I’d only be able to print something that utilized the black ink cartridge that resided alone in the over 12-year-old printer currently in my possession. With those limitations in mind, the Bernie Card was born!

The basic principals of the card involve photo manipulation and vector line art to create a simple graphic that is teamed up with a Bernie Sanders-esque quote having to do with birthdays. Inside the card is a personalized Happy Birthday for the person I made them for.

They have been a hit so far, and I’m currently exploring the logistics of making them available to the public.
