Dream – Afterlife

Afterlife detectives investigate strange happenings until things take a turn for the worst.

I was in some stage of afterlife. I knew that I was dead, and didn’t seem to have any problem with it. I was in this old but well kept house that I was always inside. I was with my mentor, who looked like Liam Neeson. It was as if we were spirits that investigated strange things going on in our world, and in other places. We would set ourselves up to have this kind of “Vision” where you enter the eyes of someone else and see and feel what they are going through, while able to explore a bit with what exactly is going on. What we would do was hold onto this old antique book and focus extremely hard on the book, and we would enter the eyes of someone else.

The first time, I entered the eyes of a dead man who was looking for something. He was black and looked like a normal person, except every joint on his body was inside out, so instead of skin, you could see his muscles, ligaments, and bones. He was driving a pickup truck with another man in it. Looking through the other man’s eyes, the black guy’s body was completely normal. The truck stopped short and I saw what was outside. A dead horse was on the side of the road, and on the patio of the house right next to where the horse was lying, there was another horse on its side that was alive but in some kind of fatal seizure. The two men got out of the truck and moved the dead horse to the sidewalk. They then went to approach the other horse, but a man standing there watching the horse catches their eyes. They went up to him, and once they looked into his eyes, an insane fear washed over them, and that was it, they were gone. That was the end of the first vision.

Upon waking from the vision, I was out of breath, but I was calmed by my mentor. I was back in the house, but the walls were a different color. We then went back to the book, but instead of having a vision, we were going to meet up with someone named Zev. Zev was pretty much our enemy, yet had our respect because he was the only person we had contact with. When we met, it was like the room we were in was split in half, with us on once side of the room, and the other showing Zev’s room. He and my mentor would talk about certain subjects in a respectful manner, but soon things would get ugly and there would be this kind of showdown where he would summon these misty orbs of fog and would throw them at us, and we had to concentrate to either absorb the things and then throw them back, or reflect them completely, making them bounce back at Zev. This would go on for a time, and then we would return. After returning, the house was different again. It was now time for us to go back in. We went to the book, and entered the eyes of another.

This time I was in the eyes of a man who is at a party. It was a pretty casual party; just 5 or 6 people hanging out together. Everything seemed to be going fine until a faint, but extremely strange sound was heard in the background that the people don’t notice. It was like a mid pitch blood-curdling howl that has two tones that make it one. One tone was the constant howl, while the other one was constantly shifting from mid pitch to high pitch to low pitch. A knock on the door was heard. A woman with black hair entered the room, and seemed to know everyone else. The sound was heard again, but this time it was coming from inside the room. Out of nowhere, the party-goers started making out with each other and everyone was taking off their clothes like it was some kind of orgy. One of the girls gave the man a drink to help him relax, and then they made him lie down on top of the table that was in the middle of the room. The woman with the black hair, and another woman stay with the man, and the other people go into another room and close the door. Both girls got on top of the mam, and they started to make out. While that happens, that same strange sound is heard, coming from mouth of the girl with black hair. This time the man notices the sound, and became very fearful. He tried to get up, but they held him down. He begans to struggle as he waved his limbs around, until something caught his eye. When he saw his arms and legs, they had been butchered. All of his skin had been cut off, and his muscles had been ripped out. All that was left were his bones and some other tissue. Right as he noticed it a scream erupted from his mouth, and in the next room where the other people went, screams were also heard. Then in a painfully loud volume was that strange howl, followed then darkness. The vision was over.

We returned once again, and the house was a different color again. It was time for another meeting with Zev, so we repeated the steps to meet up with him. Once we got to him, things started to get strange. His side of the room vanished, replaced by a strange looking vortex. I had no idea what it was, but it shot images of grief directly at me. My mentor was still next to me, also getting hit by the barrage, and yelled to me to stay focused. After a while it was over, but Zev never came back. We ran back to the book, and my mentor said that Zev had to have seen that too, and said that we had to see him again to see what that was.

We connected to Zev and he was back, but different. He was sitting on a bed, and he had this crazed look about him, and he was wearing an oddly colored suit. He had three men next to him, and there was a cage with this huge demon-looking creature inside of it. It seemed like Zev got that same vision, yet wasn’t able to overpower it. He started to ramble on about “the end” that was coming. My mentor was trying to talk him back to sanity, saying something how Zev was the only other person around that had the same knowledge we did, but it did not work. Soon after that, the three men jumped from Zev’s side to our side, engaging us in combat. Zev got up from the bed and opened the cage. The huge demon jumped out at us and ran straight for me. Before it could hit me, my mentor jumped in front of me and began to grapple with it. He was extremely out sized, but somehow he kept up with it. At that point one of the three guys was gone, and one jumped at me but I grabbed his head and slammed it into a wall, and he vanished. At that point my mentor yelled something like “There’s only one way to end this!” and then threw his arm into the demon’s chest causing a flash of light. A white light engulfed both of them and with another flash, they were gone. Zev let out a scream of terror and vanished.

I was back in the house, and yet again it was a different color. I was all alone, and I didn’t know what to do. I went over to the book, put my hand on it, and concentrated. This time I was looking through my own eyes, and I just got out of bed, right when I stood up, I felt like I was alive again. The ordeal came to an end.
